Open Learn and other Free educational resources

In this session, Sue Hemmings takes a look at the best resources from the faculty of Social Sciences. She explains why some of our MOOCS are so successful, provides updates on badged courses, and talks about all the material that is free to learners. From upskilling to learning something new, this session should inspire you to seek more knowledge when you feel inspired!

Sue Hemmings

Sue joined the OU in 1992 as a tutor and became a full time member of the Sociology Department and Staff Tutor in 2000. She tutors on The Uses of Social Science as well as working on different aspects of module presentation and production. Currently she is the Faculty’s Open Media Fellow supporting the development of our open educational resources: not just television programmes such as this week’s Don’t Panic on global poverty broadcast on BBC2, and our successful series ‘The Met’ also with the  BBC, but also the growing wealth of OU resources available on OpenLearn.
